Middle of July.....where has the summer gone?

We continue to slog through the summer.  Hot, cool, hot, cool, humid, dry.... go figure.  This weekend my bride and I harvested garlic.  Yield was OK and we were probably a week early as we had 2 leaves brown and not 3.  Oh well, our schedule is going to be quite busy for the next few weeks.  The garlic is now all tied up in the garage getting a good shot at drying out.  We also have basil, tarragon, and oregano drying in the garage.  Quite a nice smell.

Tomato plants continue to grow like weeds.  Lots of suckers.  They are all trained up the string and mulched.  Should be a good harvest.  The brussel sprouts were also mulched today.  Cracking at the top of the group is deceiving.  There is good moisture below.

The garlic beds will get turned over and planted after we get back from up north.  Beets, beans, and other fall stuff is on the agenda.

Hot and humid today.  Should keep looking to figure out how to get air conditioning.

Stay cool.
